Come on man, let's be real here. I decided to go in quantum information because, besides doing mathematical physics in a math department, it's pretty much the only place in physics that rigorous proofs are standard place. And even then, 95% of all theory papers are just "here's an algorithm/circuit/metric/etc., we don't know how to prove any claims about how efficient or useful it is, but here's some sketchy numerics."

All theories in physics are qualified as theories only if they are statistically proven within a very narrow range.
