What's the deal with dolphins? All other fish are retarded, but they are like super intelligent (yes, I know they are actually mammals)?

Why did they need to develop super intelligence throughout evolution? What environmental circumstances made them do so?

Honestly, if dolphins could walk on land and be our pets, we would ditch dogs real fast.
