If you still restrict it to STEM, the variances between location and individual difficulties and potential employment, corrected for the likelihood that you will get it, makes that a rather bad question (assuming goodness of a question is a measure of how well it can be answered).

Not entirely, but you are not the only factor in if you can do as a job what you wish to do, especially since (at least I feel that way) it is very difficult to judge if some kind of work is actually stimulating and interesting without having done it for a prolonged while. When most people talk about their dream jobs, they usually have some kind of unrealistic job profile in mind - if you are a student, you simply don't have it easy to form realistic expectations on your future work. That does not mean that the choice or effort doesn't matter. You can slaves away on all tiers of income and social prestige, but you can find something that at least makes you feel here and then that you are doing something worthwhile. Or end up in a place where not everyone you work with is full of shit.
