Almost finishing my bachelors in biochemistry.
I've got a masters lined up. Because a bachelors in this is suicide without a masters here in Germany.
At this point I don't give much of a shit about contributing to science or contributing to the world. I used to think I would create dragons from lizards and fire ants. Now I know that isn't possible. All I care about is money now.
I don't even know what to do because the effort to money ratio in science seems worthless compared to law or medicine or other pure professional degrees.

I don't even know what to do now. Society didn't tell me I was delusional about thinking science was cool. In reality science is nothing like the end result that we all fetishise.

Science for the money is the biggest meme and its hurting so many people because there's so many who will grind through the pain and maybe even get a job which they hate even if they don't like science.
