Dealing with Imposter syndrome

Hi /sci/, kinda new here
I'm a freshman who got offered a summer research opportunity by one of my math professors last year. The research project was related to coming up with a novel moment method proof of the Wigner semicircle law. I got a pretty big scholarship for the research project; the 10 weeks for working on it are almost up, and I've failed to come up with anything novel despite working very hard toward it. I feel stupid, and worry that I've disappointed both the professor who offered me the opportunity, and will disappoint the people who gave me the scholarship. I know the professor published more advanced papers with other freshman before, and I'm worried that I'm not cut out for any advanced math, or will be able to get into a good grad school. Wat do? How do I cope?
