Earth's magnetic poles are shifting, already and it's going pretty fast.

What will be the effects be during the reversal, and after the reversal?

Will certain areas/countries get fucked? will others that are barely habitable now become better?

it probably won’t affect anything that much since the effects are minimal aside from a couple of days of increased cosmic rays, the only thing that will probably be affected are migratory birds and ecosystems that rely on them (since their biological compass may lead them to migrate the wrong direction for a few years)

no, not really. it only weakens somewhat -- it's not like the magnetic field goes to zero and then pops back the other direction. it's more like the dipole migrates its orientation by moving across the lattitudes, or it breaks into a quadrupole/sextupole/etc and their north magnetic poles migrate down to the south celestial pole. so the weakening is moderate.

it won't be "extremely dangerous". i mean, you're more likely to get hit by cosmic rays standing on the north pole than elsewhere, and people have traveled there without that being the primary "danger" present.

There was a tree recovered that had went through one of these kind of events and it basically just showed signs of way more radiation
Apparently this kind of thing is pretty common and life is still around so we won't just die
Satellites will be fucked though so that's a massive issue and we really have to plan in place in case it actually occurs which is pretty scary I guess

What migrating animals follow is local magnetic field lines, similar to following air currents. This is one way we find ore in mining. We are not looking for a huge goddamn magnet over the entire fucking Earth. That is just stupid. We are finding where the magnetic field of the Earth changes as it passes through the ground. This is the same way migrating animals sense magnetic field lines. They also don't rely only on magnetic field lines. They follow the sun, they follow sea currents, they use their eyes, and their sense of smell. They do not rely solely on such lines. And no Earth's atmosphere will not suddenly disappear if the magnetic poles somehow spontaneously disappear. Earth's atmosphere will continue to function in blocking high end radiation. The problem with your posts are, you have some knowledge, you think you know what you're talking about.

Again, and I can't stress this enough. Animals and plants have gone through many pole reversals with no ill effects. Fucking hell. I'm sick of this uneducated shit.
