Would it be possible that if humanity upload its brain to the cloud we could prevent the destruction of the planet?

My hypothesis is that if we can transform ourselves into constructs that inhabit only the field of electrons, we could suppress our biological needs completely and thus stop the techno capital process that is destroying the earth.
