Do you use free math textbooks? Are they worse than paid material? Why would someone give away books for free?

There are some good free textbooks. If you don't care about illegal downloading then you can google "[textbook] filetype:pdf" and there will usually be some source you can download it from directly. You can also replace [textbook] with some subject to find books and papers on the topic or replace it with the name of an author to find more of their work.

Libgen is a lifesaver. Wikipedia articles are good too if you are careful about it.

Made $700 before it got shut down after 2 days.

I didn't even torrent the PDFs, literally just search engined the name of the book and put "free" in front of it.
