They are then forced to make subtle cyborg adjustment, such as lung implants in order to survive on an oxygen poor planet. This in turn makes them rely on their implants more and more, and they will keep needing more implants. It's only a matter of time before the implants take over, and they start multplying by absorbing more and more people. Trust me this works, I've seen a documentary called Doctor Who where this happens all the time.
