I wanna be a Rocket-Man. I’m thinking a bachelors degree in Aerospace with specialization in Astronautics. The issue is that I want to do research in space too. So what should I do? Like a PhD in Astronomy? PhD in Physics? Do a BS in Aerospace Astronautics and then do a masters and PhD in Physics or Astronomy or something?

you havent even started college yet, just go start school major in science. You wont even have to pick physics, astronomy, etc until youve complete two years of college. (the first two years of college are pretty much the same for every scientist and engineer).

It will be clearer after you talk to professors, meet working people during your first two years.

Dont worry about that right now, just go to school and do good (also dont take out loans, go to state school).

you probably got a not so hot engineering job. My friend works for the government makes 115k and is off at 3 o clock every day and gets columbus day off.

Its pretty sweet. There are shitty and good jobs in every field.

If you want to do experiments in space, biology might actually be an avenue to go. Hear me out - most physics research in space is probably launching devices and collecting data. I expect projects that actually require care for microbes would require a person to physically be there every day.
