Remember time when a giant ass roll of aluminium foil sped past our solar system because aliens were basically using our solar system as a giant trash pile? The roll of foil was probably a solar sail discarded by a spacecraft departing out of a solar system.

I can't say too much, but what I can tell you is we know where it came from. We also know it saw us. We're pretty sure we have at least a hundred years before they can learn what this one sent them, and send another one that might be a threat. We'll be ready.

The Harvard study has been discredited. What is more likely is that it was a comet that lost mass from evaporation when it was close to the sun causing an increase in velocity.

No. Dismissing arbitrary made-up variables doesn't lead to parsimony. If we can establish first an explanation that is self-consistent, from that we take away excess variables. Some variables, when removed, make a system inconsistent again.

Bayesian reduction and Occam's razor both requires two mutually distinct hypotheses. When there is any sort of overlap between two epistemic points, they blur and the laws do not apply.
