Even the thinnest of interstellar vacuums have hydrogen atoms in every square meter, and even in the “”empty”” spaces between those atoms, there’s everpresent vacuum fluctuations. As the universe continues to expand, matter will get more and more diffuse until each hydrogen atom is confined to its own observable universe, but nevertheless spacetime will remain alive with vacuum fluctuations wriggling around on quantum scales.
