I'm sorry man. If you keep pushing and make it to university you'll study this thing called "linear algebra" and you'll find that all of analytic geometry can be basically summed up in two equations. We teach you analytic geometry the caveman way basically just to mess with you. Analytic geometry is not even an actual field of math!

This unironic statement is correct, OP. Just push through it even if you don't understand it. The way it is taught in high school it has no epistemological foundations, so you CAN'T understand it. It's just a bunch of intuitions mixed with some elementary algebra. After you learn linear algebra it will all make sense.
