I do wonder how much the treatment after the fact is actually half the problem. Having everyone tell you "oh no, your life has been totally destroyed, you'll never be the same again, you're a victim for life" etc can't be good for a rape victim

It's probably because sex is a good thing but you give it a negative association for them by forcing it on them when the don't want it.
