What do you mean by drawing it with other coords? You can convert the function from rectangular to spherical/cylindrical but it will still be the same plot.

Well there's several alternatives. Free option: Mathematica. Best option: MatLab. It's not an error, but it is low resolution. Have you tried setting it equal to a number larger than 1?

This is fucking obvious
The x and y coordinates form astroids, and then you just compute the z coordinate from your astroid parameter.
