I mean do you actually sit down and solve problems even though you won't be tested on it or will ever use it on job?

I've already spent quite some time this summer to my studies. I'm indulging myself in amusement now to take a break and will continue later on. Constantly beating myself up for not being even more productive won't make me more productive, that's not how the human psychology works.

Without a working knowledge of Math you are at the mercy of the present moment, living in COMPLETE HELPLESS IGNORANCE. You will never be able to see, much less define, Causality itself. Not entirely sure this is true. Sure, they have their think-tanks to guide their decision making, but I'm not so convinced they are actually too math-smart. Plenty of powerful sleazebags that might as well be brain-dead if not for their ability to convince even dumber people - might be puppets though, I'm clearly not an expert.
