Unlike physical/athletic skills,
you can do math whenever.

Joan Birman, famous top knot theory researcher, literally didn't start math until her 40s.

Edward Witten won the fields medal after finishing degrees in like poly science.

Smale was a C and F student and after being threatened to be kicked out, actually started working towards something.

Lots of fuckers literally didn't start doing anything until grad school or even after.

Prodigy of the mind is innate, not earned like athleticism.

Pick up math at 15? You've already lost. Same for chess and anything requiring imprinting. It only occurs in the very young.
Both are innate though (good physical characteristics for sports, though training is needed, and good imprinting/learning genetics for math, though requires training too of course)

So yeah, you can do math any time, but if you're past 15 you'll never make it. Those who "made it" past 15 are either liars or not modern researchers

I've always been retarded at math and I feel the over 15 poster is correct. Even though I sucked, I can remember all the geometry and algebra classes I had in middle school and high school, and even then I was still better at trying to do it than my attempts nowadays. 2019, and I can barely get through remedial math without losing my fucking mind.
