Glancing at some recent threads I'm thinking, is there a way to preserve consciousness after death, or maybe something similar?

Maybe, but I'm of the view that if the panpsychists are right which is the least objectionable of the woo-y views, you'd still lose intelligence, memory, metacognition. Even if your consciousness lived on, everything that meaningfully contributed towards you being "you" would be gone. You would be effectively dead.
