In my country there is a lottery that pays about $. 75 USD if one guesses
two numbers of a total of sixty (the jackpot being six hits) .
I managed to get ten such double hits over a few dozen bets or so, at a single bet a day. My math is poor and I wish to have a point clarified: the probability is said to be 1 in 36 bets (tickets) to achieve one such duo. I would like to know if this is cumulative.
If yes, my wins were average only.
By cumulative I mean whether after the first bet (1 in 36) one day followed by a second bet next day (1 in 35) and so on, I would end up most likely with a win on the 36th day (bet) or would each daily bet have a full set of 1 in 36 ratio and thus in order to make my ten successes I'd need a single bet of 360 tickets (at a bet per ticket)?
I believe it makes sense that they'd reset each roll, since numbers could repeat in the following roll and thus continue to successfully negate my hits.
