Bell was a US telecommunications company that got broken up in the US for antitruat. The tiny canadian subsidiary wasn't broken up because it was outside US jurisdiction.

Yeah this is crazy, why are there no companies like this today. Where are the new computer architectures coming out of Intel, and the new operating systems coming out of Microsoft, and where are all the breakthroughs in technology. My entire life I've had the same handful of 3GHz x86 processors that I can buy with only marginal improvements and practically no conceptual advancements or breakthroughs. What is the cause anon? Is it bad public schools? Is it something in the water? Why is technology so stagnant.

I'm not exactly sure how your question relates to my comment. Are you asking in terms of using a Xilinx chip for your PC? That's not really what they are meant for. Anyway, most newer Xilinx chips have ARM cores which you could run some form of Linux or RTOS. You could also drop in a softcore CPU and run something on that. They also have some cool new architectures coming out like Versal

What are you talking about dude? Xilinx chips are everywhere. Hetergeneous SoCs are everywhere. FPGAs, GPUs, SoCs, DSPs, and now neuromorphic chips are taking off. You are in some sort of PC bubble. The PC market does not dictate anything because it has not real computational demands other than streaming netflix and vidya. Your PC probably already does everything you need it to do just fine. Embedded systems and HPC is where the innovation is happening.

I say all but Amazon. For two reasons really. First, Amazon is still actually growing and innovating so we should let Jeff Bezos keep giving us free innovation and then break him up when he runs out of ideas, like all the other companies in your list. Second, Amazon is the only one to not have done actually outrageous SJW type shit, so it should be rewarded. For the rest, I say break them up and public beheading of their CEOs.
