There are some key elements. Watch one of the "better" YT coffee channels to get an idea of what's effecting your brew and what you can do to tweak it.
Howell Coffee Company's YT channel has some decent videos on the things you should be doing to adjust your brew to your liking.
WATER - Needs to be clean pure, filtered, or bottled source. Straight unfiltered tap water is the first big mistake.
You can spend all the money in the world on the best beans, the best grinder, the most expensive brewer, and do everything else perfectly, and raw tap water will nullify all of your best efforts.
the water needs to be at the right temperature, and needs to be applied in the right manner, the right speed and sequence
the beans need to be of good quality, good freshness and a good roast.
the grind needs to be exactly perfect and consistent size grind. the grind needs to be FRESH. only grind your beans the last moment before you actually brew.
beans ground 16 minutes ago are already getting stale. an hour old and they're garbage
all of this is dependent on your brew method, whether its auto-drip, percolator, French press, espresso, Turkish, whatever.
main points are
The Beans
The Roast
The Grind
The Water
The brewing procedure
all need to handled done with informed care and attention
