>fall for the physics meme
>make good grades in all my math classes and electives but bomb 2nd half of 1st year physics class dealing with electricity, optics, and waves
>write nothing at all on exam
>realize I am too retarded to study science and decide I want to switch into CS so I can actually get a job
>can't just change my major; have to wait a fucking year and take courses I know I'll do badly in that will ruin my GPA and make me inadmissible to any program I want to get in
I don't know what to do guys. I am late 20s so I am too old to waste time 'finding myself' and the university doesn't want to accomodate my switching programs because of their retard policy even though I have an A average across the other courses I have taken so far, including As in both calc 1 and 2 which had the majority of students either failing, dropping, or passing with a D. I am not meaning to brag but the point I am trying to make is it doesn't make sense that I have to wait a year to change majors with no guarantee that it will get approved despite having already taken a number of courses at university level, having done 3 math classes required for CS (calc 1, 2, and linear algebra). Meanwhile, kids straight out of high school can apply to the CS program in the fall and start as early as January.
I apologize for the blog post but I was wondering if anyone here has been in this situation and could offer some advice? This kind of administrative bullshit is really discouraging and makes me want to give up and go back to my old job. I am starting to remember why years ago I got a certificate instead of a degree even though back then I was young and still had time to waste.
