Last night actually. I'd been studying for my Linear Algebra final that was this morning and I kept hovering just above sleep thinking about proofs for subspaces and linear transformations and stuff. But there was some small error in my shallow dream I kept turning over in mind. I woke up three or four times and nothing I was dreaming about made any fucking sense anyway. Infuriating.

Great way to put it. This happens anytime I frantically study for an important test. I wake up feeling horribly rested but the adrenaline mixed with the "mode" that my mind is in makes me perform better than usual.

Yes happened to me often during university, equations appearing and stuff, but also when extensively playing games.
First night you don't sleep but when you get up you're still feeling okay, but within half a day you go down.

Now I'm thinking about it it also happens now I'm a working man, especially when there's tight deadlines.
What can you do about it? Take longer breaks I guess

This is basically me every single day. I hover just above sleep for the entire night and some days completely consciously. I don't know if I'm just a light sleeper or what, but I'll notice the smallest disturbances even when it's 3AM and I'm "sleeping"

holy fucking shit I know this feel. sometimes I take a nap in the afternoon, but I never truly fall asleep. my body is asleep, but I'm consciously thinking about stuff, usually just rewinding memories, and sometimes this evolves into some kind of a half-ass dream. hard to explain
