They literally created special chips to simulate millions of artificial neurons, even a sane kind of AN, not the machine learning meme ones, and haven't gained even a single insight. Search for blue brain project, I forgot the name of the other one.

That's 25k$ for a developped brain at 25 years old average. I would guess a primate or a dolphin is similar in price.
