All of STEM is rote knowledge and learning a language or a musical instrument is harder. I refuse to believe the idea that STEM is for smart people. I see many engineers, mathematicians, and scientists who are unimaginative, dull people. I can read Apostols Calculus and have the requisite knowledge of calculus as any licensed engineer does, but you will never play as well as I can even if you spent the rest of your life trying to do so.
