Because there HAS to be something, it is a logical necessity.

"Nothing", or "no thing", cannot exist by its very nature, "it" is the complete lack of existence, therefore it is impossible for "Nothing/no thing" to exist. This means then that "something/some thing" MUST exist, it is impossible for something NOT to exist.

Optimally, it might have something to do with the packing problem. Packed spheres are "lumpy" in consistency; however optimally the universe is not comprised of spheres but rather perfectly packed cubes.. its an interesting question and is the most alluring question in physics at the moment in my opinion... why is the Universe not perfectly in equilibrium which would be the same as "nothing" since time is only measured as a change in energy states....

This but because if there was nothing then there would at least be the truth that there was nothing, and that truth is something not nothing, so actual nothing is self contradicting and can not occur.

Nothingness is a nonsense notion. Because there simply cannot be nothing, as there clearly is something. Even if it's a simulation or a dream that's still not nothing.
