So we all know we are probably living in a Simulation. The question is - why?
I think we are in a VR ancestor simulation. "Our" descendants want to run simulations of us to see how we think, act, and behave, because they have very low-resolution record keeping of the history of man. The easiest way to understand the development, struggles, regrets, and emotions of your species is to force every new child to experience the life of every single ancestor firsthand.
When the Simulation timeline finally reaches the "modern" age (that is, the future for us but the modern age of the true reality), then the child is released from the VR Ancestral Simulated Education System™ and is considered "educated and mature" enough to take on their new Neuralink Mind Augment and join civilized society.
The child experienced the full gamut of human emotions, from conqueror to conquered, and the full development of humanity and his very own species. In reality, he only aged a year or two (due to the Simulation timesteps being extremely small and running at 1000x speed). That way he can be considered trustworthy and a fully realized member of Proto-Cyborg society
