Some of the techniques are absurdly simple, yet obvious once you are aware of them.
One of the most basic is an oral hygiene technique that I have taken up in place of using the re-purposed industrial byproduct known as toothpaste. In this technique you build up a ball of spit in your mouth, swish it around like mouth wash, and run your tongue along your gums. You then swallow the spit, aiding digestion. This is just one of dozens of techniques in the book, some like this one seem almost instinctual. Some seem silly, but then you try them and can feel their effect.
That last sentence brings me to the point I mentioned last post. Meditation is the key to this because it helps you develop body awareness. By being more in tune with your internal state, you are more effective at judging the effects of your practice and correcting yourself.
I have been studying Taoist theory in health cultivation for 5 years now. That book is an incredible text.
