Apparently "the animals are dying" is easier for people to wrap their heads around than bacteria developing complete resistance to antibiotics. Even more scary is that we may be hitting a ceiling to the number of potential antibiotic targets, so "just make new antibiotic classes" may not be an option. Superbugs won't wipe out humanity, but they'll do a number.
