/sci/, I come to you with a problem whose answer I am not sure how to get. Promise it isn't homework.

Pictured is the cosine transform of a gaussian function from something I wrote in python. As far as my smoothbrain can tell, the FT of a gaussian is supposed to look like a gaussian, but this just looks like a damped cosine function.

Any idea how I can numerically arrive at a transform that returns something like another gaussian?
