Entirely anecdotal of course, but I made about 8 friends during my first year undergraduate calculus and physics subjects. Of the 9 of us, only 2 of us made it to 4th year. Most drop out or do commerce/business. It’s estimated that about 30-40% of all engineering students will not complete their degree

This is not a universal truth. We already have a surplus of engineers according to employment statistics. I remember looking deeply into this several years ago and it was absolutely nuts how many engineers graduate each year with so, so few openings each year. I'm willing to say this because I did not choose engineering and do not have a bias.

SATs are a real joke. I barely got past a 500 in most areas and should have "never" made it in college. Yet, I had no issues in college and graduated with top honors. Reason? I am sure i am partly dyslexic and have horrible test taking strategies e.g. i get too fixated in getting a question right, rather than try to get as many questions as possible by doing the easy ones. This is not an issue with classes where you learn specific subjects with specific pace, but an absolute disaster in standardized testing where time and test strategizing are a bullshit skill you are being tested against.

I'm so fucked.

I'm biomedical. Currently working at a Community College looking to transfer into the major at a university.

Back in HS my SAT was awful, I got into the 1100's. I should just end myself.
All I want to do in life is work with stem cells and study regenerative medicine.

I'm not even doing great at CC.
It's all so tiresome.
