Materials that are able to store lots of energy in their binding are great for batteries. So theoretically, most explosives would be great batteries. However, they are also great explosives, and it's much harder to make them release energy in a stable, controlled manner than it is to make them explode in one go. But in theory, they'd be great for batteries. It's also why many modern batteries explode violently when something goes wrong.
I'm just an undergrad thought, so I can't attest to how accurate said statement is. Sounds reasonable enough though.
