So here's what I'm guessing asians see, feel free to correct if wrong. It seems to tie in to that last link in

>>10858510 in another way; the paper says westerners tend to isolate the subject of their attention and consider it on its own, whereas asians tend more to take the object in the context of its surroundings. If by "westerners" the authors meant white people, and if "Asians" includes asian americans then you could suggest that differences in skull structure shape culture, since a white person's skull literally blocks more of cross-ways peripheral vision versus the object of attention in the binocular area.
