If I was going to test this I'd probably pull people from various educational and ethnic backgrounds, have a control group, pop them full of placebos and the other Adderall or some other stimulant that makes you energetic and motivated but unlike drugs such as modafinil or MDing shrooms/lsd, doesn't actually aid in the process of learning itself. Given two people with hypothetical IQ of 90 and another pair of 110, one of each given a placebo, I'd see whether the 90 IQ test subject benefited statistically significantly more than the 110 subject from Adderall use compared to the relative difference of placebo groups then keep repeating the experiment until causality is established.
I assume something like this was done already but whatever
