I'm looking at valuation data from experts (E) and from amateurs (A)
where the number of amateurs $n_A>1000$ far exceeds the number of experts $n_E>100$
and the customary square-root weighting does not give satisfactory results.
A logarithmic weighting does give satisfactory resuts, but I need
a justification for its use. Help is appreciated.
