In undergrad I was pretty good friends with the professors for higher level subjects in my degree. Towards senior year I would just shoot the shit with them about certain ideas. Letters of rec were super easy this way, and I still am in contact with those 3 who wrote them for me.
Professors are people. I happened to really get along with a few of them, so a friendship naturally formed.
I am also pretty good friends with my current advisor, we do things outside of labwork fairly often, including go out drinking, but we are not too far in age, and he's a giant kid still.
I'm also older, i graduated undergrad at 27, so i think that really helped

I was buddies with a couple professors in undergrad, they got me a position as a research assistant one summer when I couldn't get an internship at a company

then that assistantship turned out to be really useful when I was looking for a job after graduation

Our department has great relations to the students. We invite them to festivities and they return the favor. Being that close to students has the advantage for both of us that we can easily talk about their problems and wishes.

The best way to interface with profs is one-on-one. Don't be a showoff in class though. I got familiar with some profs who ran research labs and they got me into a few as an undergrad. It's also great for letters of rec. Not every professor will try to be your friend though. IME the good ones often have good advice about life and work.

I made the terrible mistkae of emailing a prof an error she made during lecture. She then proceeded to ask me to come for a talk etc. I just ignored it.
She got slightly pissed etc. and probably told some retarded shit to the TAs because they looked at me like i was some kind of freak.

She has NO authority over me. She gets paid by the university to teach. I do not have any kind of contract with her to fulfill anything.

Obviously I was very polite in my email when I told her what was wrong and it really was wrong, maybe it was an oversight. etc. it doesn't matter.

What matters is instead of saying "thanks!" she requested i go "talk" to her (i.e. acting like my boss)

Imagine being such an entitled person that instead of thanking somebody who genuinely improves your lecture by paying attention you try to make them waste their time and psychologically terrorize them because you are butthurt your imaginary "autohrity" wasn't met.

Telling somebody to come to you is a passive form of ordering somebody around. If I email her in the first place, that is a cue that I don't want to or can't meet her in the real world.
It's basic intelligence and some kind of sensivity, which this Prof and you guys obviously lack.

I usually just treat professors like actual people, I'm not curt or rude but don't bother with asskissing and titles (this is a good approach with cops if you're trying to get a ticket lowered btw) . Doing a master's now and so far my relationships with professors and teachers over my academic:

Female professors teaching non-bullshit courses: neutral
Female professors teaching bullshit courses: very bad* have a blog coming but in general they're always more interested in teaching their opinions and grading based on whether you agree with the politics they slip into everything
Male professors teaching non-bullshit: very good, my current advisor especially for some reason is praising me way more than I think is warranted. In general I've only had one male professor I considered a proper asshole
Male professors teaching bullshit: okay to good

Regarding the asterisk, one specific example

I know many people, I'm pretty old. And people who don't say thank you are NOT worth working with or working for. No matter what fucking position they are in.

I really regret not filing a formal complaint against her but it wouldn't matter, tenure was a mistake. I've had group mates (who were also always girls) pull shit like this in other group projects too, I have more blogs but can't be bothered

Despite all this I have a ton of professors, many of which highly reputable offering to be a reference. Tldr don't suck up, don't be a dick
