does /sci/ have a philosophy guide? I'd like something that focuses on analytic stuff and completely avoids the gay stuff philosophy is known for (this is why I'm not asking /lit/).

i just finished Russel's "Problems of Philosophy", fwiw. It seemed like a good intro for my purposes. I'm comfortable with proofs, rigor and formal logic, so no pussyfooting pls.

also, I'm looking for a resource that uses prolog to teach formal logic, and ideally analyzes some philosophical arguements like this. not sure if such a thing exist though

This used to be my main area of interest while I was in high school, heh. My only recommendation is, go read Brakto now, then get onto the rest yourself because I don't remember finding anything in the area.
If I have time one day I'll write an article on the topic but that's hardly the case now so you'll have to wait for that to happen or for someone else to reply.

I'm reading "introduction to fromal philosophy" at the moment and I can recommend it - as the title states: basically math applied to philosophical questions (epistemology, moral philosophy). There are lots of small chapters (introductions, not very deep) but each with references for further reading.

I do not agree. Criticizing that "the object of inquiry is the instrument of inquiry" is serious stuff.
Besides, do those terms today still make sense? It is not always easy to categorize / distinguish between analytic and continental.
