Ok so hear me out, the probelm with orbit refueling is that if theres a ship in orbit and you want to dock with it to refuel it you have to mathc its velocity, basically mathcing its orbit.

but how about this, you put a ship in eccentric orbit.

Then you launch all the fuel the ship needs UP, without sideways velocity in an intersection of its orbit. This is 100000 times les energy dense than taking it to orbit.


The ship has a lid and is designed to "catch" the fuel in orbit.

As soon as it enters the ship the lid closes and starts being used.

Bam, no matter what tehcnology is used, add this to it and you have another 10/100 cost reduction.
