Do you guys think taking introduction to programming along with intermediate courses like object oriented programming in the same semester is a bad thing?
Do you waste time by having both and introductory and an intermediate course even though they teach different languages?

Go ahead and do that. Programming isn't all that hard so intro will be very easy. Once you understand the general rules OO will come really easy. Really, calling OO "intermediate" is a bit of an over valuing of OO.

No, the industry runs in Assembly, not C. That is why we have compilers. You only really need C if you are gonna need control over memory pointers and what not, something you don't normally need.

Try component based rather than object oriented. You get manageable projects, modular programs, isolated data deployment, reusable code, lots of options for the user, and non-redundant software size.

are you stupid? every operating systems are written in C. who cares about the target architecture. Linux is compiled in amd64 for servers and arm for mobile phones. The same C code runs in both.

I'd say learn whatever you can, expand your horizons. I think C for example, is good with small projects as long as you don't want to pull your hair out because of shit readability and hard to maintain code(look at IdTech3 for prime example).

you don't write 1m lines of code in a single .c file, you write libraries, a lot of them. there are other abstractions, a single C file is an abstraction (see. static functions and variables).

we have many active projects written in millions of lines of C code, probably more than any other language and still these dumb people claim that you can't manage large source bases in C.
how stupid is this. imagine people claim that you can't use nuclear reactions to produce energy while there are 60 nuclear power plants in america alone.

C is a sharp tool, I'll give you that, and programming education only gets worse. That's why we have languages like Go, Rust, Swift, D and so on.

As a beginner language however, C is still best choice because it teaches you those "low level" things. Thus, even if you write with a higher level programming language, you know what you're doing. You learn about memory management, operating system interfaces, algorithms, data structures
and other things.

Starting with python to be a programmer is like starting with mathematica to be a mathematician.
