there are no pockets of hydrogen waiting to be tapped OP. its made by steam reforming methane and is just a roundabout way of using natural gas. juicero level boomertech

hydrogen can be stored for months or even years at a time. Although flow batteries can too. In terms of chemical energy storage per unit mass, you really can't beat hydrogen.

in practice a "hydrogen economy" will store hydrogen for even less time than our current economy stores gasoline. so, again, better off with lithium batteries

Seasonal variation in generating capacity. Stephen Chu has a nobel prize. Still can beat the energy density of hydrogen oxidation wrt to mass with lithium battery chemistries. Barring radically new battery technology we'll have to use it some day. Not to mention fucking rockets use hydrogen.

Only when is highly pressurized
h2 has the lower density of all gases. At atmospheric pressure in a given volume you get very little mass to burn

High pressure tanks are DANGEROUS, and more even if they are flammable. I would drive a car with that bomb inside

Hydrogen can leak through solid metal walls, let alone valves and other mechanical sealing elements because how tiny the molecule is, especially at high pressure, which is another engeneering can of worms and what you need if you want some decent energy density.
furthermore, it has a wide air-to-fuel explosion ratio (the widest of all "common" fuels and gasses iirc).
I'd predict shit would blow up all the fucking time if didn't maintain it enough, which I guarantee almost nobody will.

the chemical energy density per unit mass does not change with pressure. There are other means of storing hydrogen with better volumetric energy densities. One of them is metal hydrides.
