Echo chamber for disenfranchised teens and 20 year olds who think there is a massive conspiracy because the status quo is changing. They can no longer coast on being affluent, especially sexually, so the frustration drives them to a community online they can empathize with. Unfortunately, the same people who blame external sources for internal problems will also fabricate ridiculous conspiracies for why it's not their fault: Jews, feminism, women in general, brown people, poor people, even other white people (not as white as them though). Then the echo chamber does what it does: it validates these beliefs through constant reaffirmation that it is indeed true.
I mean it's literally the western version of terrorist radicalization.
