You feel gravity on the surface because that's where the most magnitude of it is. In the center of magnitude there is *less of that magnitude*. It's not "zero", but It surrounds and negates the middle.

It's just like a big heavy duty vacuum container, self negating gravity/vacuum that's lower than space. As it's throwing its mass out, the core chamber would also increase the hardness of vacuum pressure. Like a balloon, only no air is being added. It just spins faster to get larger and has the same pressure. Stop spinning the balloon and it will collapse on itself from the lack of centrifugal force.
