Tried to learn some machine learning and statistical analysis through datacamp but I'm realizing that I'm learning the packages and code syntax/structure instead of the actual underlying techniques and theory. I'm learning how to automate the EDA instead of learning what each metric and visualization actually means

I want to avoid tackling research problems with a "throw everything at it" approach and actually learn the statistics. Since analysis varies from dataset to dataset I'm having a real tough time pinning down where I should start studying statistics. I've taken undergrad and have a good grasp on the fundamentals, but I'm getting head rushes thinking about all the shit I need to learn
