dont. preps are a scam. I went in and got 85% on both quant and verbal, and 99% writing, and im some random biochem major who knows up to calc 3. I fully intended on taking it once to see what it was like, then studying, but my score was more than decent for grad school so i said fuck it and went with it.
seriously, it's not hard.

I'm assuming you mean for the quant section. Pirate the PDF of the 5 lb book of GRE problems. The GRE doesn't test your knowledge of math but rather their version of "math". you just need to practice how they word problems and what answers they are looking for.

Don't bother. These tests are garbage and you have to be awful at math and never read to get below 80th percentile, which is sufficient for good grad schools.

How pathetic do you have to be to flex on a typical grad school test on an online image board cause you're so devoid of achievement

Here's what you do OP buy the manhattan 5lb book and the ETS gre books and do every ETS question and supplement with 5lb on weak areas, then take their 2 practice test on the ETS homepage and possibly if you don't feel ready buy 2 more power prep plus, for writing just read the ETS books on what a good essay looks like any you're good to go

Don't listen to the rest of the retards trying to flex they're just as retarded as the 28 year old uni dropout who flexes that he got a 140 on an online IQ test whilst being drunk

I'm not bragging. I got 98th percentile on the verbal, a 5 on the writing, and only 80th percentile on the quantitative. I did the two practice tests they gave me and studied vocab for a couple of days. The tests are poorly made. I've gotten A's in both calculation-focused and proof-focused math classes up to abstract algebra and Fourier series and I ran out of time on the math tests because the exam is so fucking long and the questions can be tricky bullshit.

Which proves the question that you should prep for it because it has no other purpose than to facilitate entry to grad school, why wouldn't you pay 25 USD for the study books and maybe 30 more for an extra book if you really don't know your shit and then study maybe 2 hours for 2 or 3 weeks in order to get a really good score which could get you in and change your entire life, as opposed to just winging it cause someone else with innate talent managed to score super high without effort

I didn't study for even 1 minute, got 166/170 V/Q
it's all really basic shit, actually a lot of big STEM programs are eliminating it from their admissions criteria entirely because GRE scores have proven to be uncorrelated with completion of PhD

80 percentile isnt super high though. There are humanities majors taking the GRE too, no one with a STEM undergrad background should get less than a 70% without studying on both verb and quant, unless english isnt your first language. If you do, you really shouldn't be in research (grad program).
