I am quite inexperienced in the matter. In fact, my sector is telecommunications and I am studying physics (at least quantum physics and relativity) in a self-taught way.
My questions are a mixture of physics and perhaps something more philosophical:
It is supposed that before the Big Bang there was a "universe" in which the vacuum energy after a great expansion provoked a quantum fluctuation and that the future of our universe is that, in which the vacuum energy will expand more and more the space between galaxies until it becomes a cold universe with nothing (because even the black holes would have evaporated by the Hawkings radiation). Is that correct?
That is to say, the life cycle of this our universe is an infinite expansion until it is "torn" by vacuum energy until a quantum fluctuation is generated and it can generate another big bang?
What is the future for any form of life whether intelligent or not in a future scenario? Is it compatible? It is logical that biology or even the evolutionary drift we as humans will not be, but perhaps some species descendant.
If this universe is so generous to generate life (you only have to see all the physical-chemical properties of carbon), how is it possible that we have not found even if it is a simple radio signal of some civilization far from us? This is where Drake's equation would come in, but I think it has a lot of gaps.
What part of truth is the multiverse theory? How is it possible that there are physicists who are formulating such theories when there is no way (as far as I know) to prove it? Our observable universe is very limited and we don't even know if it is finite or infinite... as if to know if there are other parallel universes.
A last question, how important is the discovery of quantum gravity for theoretical physics?
