math is just an extension of logic. unless you are worried about axioms of logic, set theory, and Peano’s axioms, it has nothing to do with metaphysics. just assume the axioms and deduce everything from there, done.
a good physicist just figures out what works empirically and doesn’t bother getting lost in philosophical arguments
