>>10843052I have a theory that every human is capable of learning an instrument or attaining a high level of understanding in any subject in just a week or two, but the brain actively sabotages you against it and prevents you from doing so because that process would spike your BMR to the point that the scarcity we evolved in would be unable to feed us, so there are switches that prevent your personal conscious control over the gas pedal of your brain, because people who didn't have these switches operated in a constant overdrive, exhausting themselves to literally death and subtracting those genes from our gene pool. You'd think that the ability to overload your brain and use it to the fullest capacity would result in resource abundance that outweighs the increased metabolic cost, but that's not the case at all and even in our current technological society, resource acquisition doesn't become a child's play by having a higher IQ, you simply become a black sheep autist who has a harder time bonding with the dumber people, resulting in a lower ability to benefit from the resources they sit on top of.
In fact, there is the exact same kind of a switch for muscle formation, purely to prevent the excessive energy expenditure from increased muscle mass and to therefor increase survival rate by lowering required food intake, which can mutate and misfire, causing the muscle mass we're supposed to optimally have in the modern resource abundance:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myostatin-related_muscle_hypertrophyThe only option to overcome this switch is if you literally damage your brain to somehow cause it to misfire, or to have a gun pressed to your head with you fully believing that you're about to fucking die if you don't master the subject, making your subconsciousness switch it off as it now feels that it's one of those times where you really actually need the overclock.
