my opinion is that the boltzmann brain argument is pretty flawed because boltzmann's original ideas involved the classical Liouville theorem, but we know that things like the liouville phase-space flows are not as deterministic as he supposed. the doomsday argument is a typical retarded Brandon Carter anthropic reasoning argument, and the whole argument is about naiively applying some statistical inference with a sample size of 1. by the same argument i could say the universe will probably end in 14 billion years by vacuum decay, since using a naiive poisson distribution, that would be the best guess. but if i were to argue that, if i were being honest, i would have to say the uncertainty associated with that prediction is (-14 billion years, + infinity years).
the simulation hypothesis is losing popularity in physics, because there are good arguments why it can't be true, and because it is a fucking meme. there is a reason it was most popular right after the original Matrix movie came out. it is not scientifically legitimate (it's not falsifiable unless Agent Smith comes to show us), it fails occam's razor, and information-theoretically it seems completely impossible. that shit is a meme.
Tegmark needs to start doing real physics instead of trying to shill his books.
