But it's not the kind of simulation where shortcuts were taken to build an approximate model, this is the real deal with
the original algorithm behind it.
In any case it can't be proven. The latter case could be proven if there were inconsistencies due to an imperfect model, but in the former case there'd be simply no way to prove anything.
What's likely is that the base universe can't be physical like ours, it's probably non-dimensional with a fuckton of entropy.
I don't see any civilization being able to build a system that could run a simulation as big as this, and as far as this, with physical constraints. Even if they had the formula right, it would be so slow to calulate each advancing state that it would never reach a state where you can actually get sentient life from it.
In that case an approximation would be the reasonable choice but there'd certainly be side effects.
