I've noticed something after having lived in a relatively wooded area. Certain animals seem to be able to sense my intentions. I'll give you a few examples.
>see goldfinch outside with avian flu (puffed eyes, acting erratic)
>call birdwatcher friend, he tells me to cull it for the sake of the flock
>go outside with air rifle, which is about as loud as a .22 shooting subsonic ammo (fairly loud)
>zero in on bird
>notice rabbit 10 yards away from bird
>take shot, bird down
>rabbit doesn't move, even when I get up
>just keeps eating
